Michigan Region Competition Updates
2024: A Breakout Year for Non-Speed Events in the Michigan Region!
Exciting things happened in 2024, especially with the launch of the NON-SPEED Top 15 national recognition—a game-changer for clubs and competitors across the country.
More Sanctions, More Action
This year, the number of allowable sanctions rose from 10 to 14, giving clubs the green light to host more events than ever before. Here in Michigan, that change made a big difference. Non-speed events were revitalized, with participation reaching levels we haven’t seen in years.
Rallyes & Funkhanas: A Strong Comeback
We saw impressive growth in non-speed event attendance:
- Funkhanas averaged 36.25 participants across 44 events in 2024, up from 23.2 participants across 35 events in 2023
- Rallyes averaged 27 participants across 46 events in 2024, up from 16 participants across 29 events in 2023
FTD Bonus Guidance
Event chairs also received new direction from the VP/RCD on awarding Fastest Time of Day (FTD) bonuses using a class-based system. This added structure and fairness brought even more excitement to the competition.
Regional Recognition on the National Stage
We’re proud to share that four men and eight women from the Michigan Region will be honored at this year’s NCCC National Convention for their outstanding participation and performance in non-speed events.

Guidance for Competitive Events
Please refer to the NCCC Competition Manual (Rulebook) for information on how to set up and run events. Event information and flyer must be entered into the NCCC Competition Database at least 45 days prior to an event or the sanction will not be approved. Results must be entered in the database and entrant fees paid within 15 days after an event takes place. A Users Guide is located on the Members Only page of the NCCC Website. It is located under the Competition Database dropdown menu. Governors are provided login information for the Members Only page to share with their Club members.
A fee of $0.75 per entrant (per car on rallyes and car shows) is to be paid to the Michigan Region Treasurer, using the entrant fee form, within 15 days after the event takes place. All entrants, including non-NCCC, must be included in your count. The form will automatically calculate fees upon entering the number of entrants if you fill it out using Excel. Make checks payable to "Michigan Region of Corvette Clubs" and submit to the address listed on the form.
